A look back at Doris Day's most celebrated roles
Pillow Talk, star of Day in the 1960 film, alongside Rock Hudson, earned an Oscar nomination for Best Actress in the role of Jan Morrow, an interior decorator who shared a phone line with a man she did not I could stand, Brad Allen (Hudson).
Another of his most famous roles came in 1953 when he starred in Calamity Jane. Day sang eight songs in the film, including "Black Hills of Dakota," "Secret Love," and "Just Blew in From the Windy City."
The Pajama Game saw Day play a worker in a pajama factory who fell in love with a man hired to oppose the workers' demand for a pay raise. The feature film came immediately after a Broadway production.
