'Twin Peaks' Actress Peggy Lipton dies at 72

Peggy Lipton, the actress and singer best known for her roles in The Mod Squad and Twin Peaks, died at the age of 72.

His death was announced on Saturday by his daughters Kidada and Rashida Jones. Lipton was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2004.

"She made her trip in peace with her daughters and nieces by her side," their daughters said in a statement to the Los Angeles Times. "We feel very fortunate for every moment we spend with her."

Born Margaret Ann Lipton in New York City on August 30, 1946, she started modeling at age 15 and started performing at 19, making appearances on The John Forsythe Show, The Alfred Hitchcock Hour and Bewitched.
